These battery operated LED fairy lights multi coloured 20 bulbs multi action lights look superb anywhere.
They are made from high quality clear cables with multi coloured LED bulbs. Complete with 8 function speed controller for great affects from always on, to slow glow, fade, chase etc.
Being LED they are bright enough to be seen during the day or in the evening and yet use hardly any power. They are 3 times as bright as normal Christmas lights or fairy lights. They will enhance any floral or tree decoration or where power is not available plus they will brighten a dark corner of your home. Children particularly love the multicoloured LED battery lights, and being only 4.5V they can be safely used anywhere- even as a 'twinkling' night light .
These battery power LED's never get hot and always remain cool to touch. They are therefore safe for almost any application. They can be used with fabrics, flowers, children, pets or even worn as a trendy clothing accessory.
Expected life per battery set (3 AA batteries not supplied) is 60 hours and re-chargeable batteries can be used. The LED bulbs are expected to last for up to 100,000 hours - which is a very long time !

I've just bought four sets of these lights as I wanted to put some festive lights in my windows but don't have enough convenient plug sockets and didn't really want trailing extention leads all over the place.
I agree with the previous review, they look lovely and bright, are great quality and the range of effects is a bonus, though personally I only use two settings. There is also an 'off' button ( I wasn't actually sure there would be!) so you can save battery power if you don't want them on during the day.
The cable is clear, which helps it blend better with whatever you are fixing the lights to.
The length is just right for my needs as I only wanted to run them along the bottom of my windows, but I'm sure they would look stunning entwined in Christmas wreaths or garlands, stair bannisters, along mantlepieces etc, or even in a clear vase. I can't comment on the battery life as I haven't had them long enough, but I've used them for a week, putting them on every evening since dusk for about 7 hours and they're still going.
Definately recommend these lights, but I suggest you buy them directly from the lights4fun website, as P&P is much lower.
UPDATE DECEMBER 2009.
Having used them for two Christmases now, I'm not quite so happy with these and would probably now say 'buy with caution'. Out of my four sets only two are still working, and the plastic battery covers on all four sets don't fit properly. I've contacted Lights4fun directly but have had no response (surprise suprise.)

These lights are excellent. They run off a battery pack that allows them to be used just about anywhere - even as part of a festive outfit or costume! You can also drape them over or around things, or put them on a small Christmas tree. No fuss. Very safe and use very little power so the batteries last for ages. As they are LEDs they don't even get warm, but they are lovely and bright and colourful.
The battery compartment has a little button that you press to switch between the different modes, like flash, steady and chase etc. Excellent!
Lights4Fun were also superb. Order arrived very quickly, no problems at all.
